As the official water sponsor of the Boston Marathon® held on April 21, 2025, Poland Spring® helped participants in this iconic race stay refreshed and hydrated! We proudly supported 25 runners who had the incredible opportunity to participate in this year’s event as part of Team Poland Spring. We were thrilled to support them every step of the way!

For the third consecutive year, Poland Spring® collaborated with the Joe Andruzzi Foundation (JAF) and Stop & Shop to surprise a Norton, Massachusetts cervical cancer patient, Carrie Foster, with a heartwarming show of support.

The 45-year-old mother of two believed she was participating in a promotional video for JAF but was stunned when former New England Patriot and cancer survivor Joe Andruzzi arrived at her home flanked by Poland Spring® and Stop & Shop-to deliver a year’s worth of Poland Spring® water and groceries.

“We’re inspired by Carrie’s strength, the care she pours into her family, and the hope that blossoms in the gorgeous garden she proudly showed us during the visit,” said Ericka Stewart, Associate Brand Manager with Poland Spring®.

The surprise also included $50,000 in charitable donations—$25,000 each from Stop & Shop and Poland Spring®—to further support JAF’s mission to alleviate the financial difficulties faced by cancer patients in New England.

The celebration event, held in Carrie’s front yard of her home, featured a tailgate lunch, signed memorabilia from Joe Andruzzi, and emotional moments with her family.

“This moment was truly special,” said Joe Andruzzi, Co-Founder and Chief Engagement Officer of JAF. “To see Carrie surrounded by her family and our incredible partners who believe in giving back—it’s why we do what we do. It’s about lifting up people when they need it most.”

Foster is currently undergoing treatment for cervical cancer and is unable to work. Her story inspired a collaboration between JAF and its corporate partners to show tangible support and highlight the critical role community plays in a cancer journey.

The Joe Andruzzi Foundation provides financial assistance for housing, transportation, utilities, food, insurance, and other essential needs for cancer patients across New England. In 2024, JAF distributed more than $1.3 million in direct support.

Our commitment to community support extended to Boston Children’s Hospital’s community program, Family Food Connections, a food pantry located within the Mildred C. Hailey Apartments, a Boston Housing Authority development, and next to Boston Children’s at Martha Eliot. It is a unique collaborative partnership between Boston Children’s and the Boston Housing Authority. The pantry has over 1,100 visits per week and more than 40,000 visits to date—more than 80 percent of families who visit have children under the age of 17.

In collaboration with Shaw’s and Star Market, Poland Spring team members packed and distributed hundreds of nutritious foods and Poland Spring® water to families in need. Since Earth Day coincided with the week’s festivities, guests were offered Poland Spring® aluminum water bottles in celebration of this occasion and in honor of our sustainability initiatives. To further our impact, a $25,000 donation was made to support Boston Children’s Hospital’s vital work.

“It means a lot to us to give back. It’s the heart of what we do,” said Stewart. “Teaming up with Shaw’s and Star Market to support Boston Children’s Hospital gave us the chance to connect with local families in a meaningful way, offering some nourishment and hydration, and a moment of care. Celebrating Earth Day alongside this initiative made the experience even more special as we honored both community and sustainability efforts.”

“We are grateful for the incredible support from Poland Spring® for Boston Children’s Hospital patients and families,” said Michael Bornhorst, Vice President of Corporate Development, Leadership Giving & Special Events at Boston Children’s Hospital Trust. “We know how critical food security is to achieving healthy futures for kids and are thrilled to work with companies that embrace that mission.”

For 180 years, our brand has been part of the New England community, and we were able to show up for our neighbors in a meaningful and heartfelt way.
