Primo Brands, through its Poland Spring® Brand has donated more than $20,000 to Fryeburg Rescue to replace their aging radios. “As technology changes, the burden is put on departments to maintain the appropriate communication equipment which is a huge but necessary cost,” said Fryeburg Rescue Chief Stephen Goldsmith. “We thank them for this generous grant.”
With the donation, the department will be able to purchase more than 20 radios and five pagers. The newer technology will allow improved communication within the department.
“One of Primo Brands’ core values is giving back to the communities it has operations in,” said Heather Printup, Senior Community Relations Manager for Primo Brands. “We’ve been a part of the town of Fryeburg for more than 25 years and we’re proud to support the community’s first responders.”
The town of Fryeburg is in a rural part of western Maine, making radio communications often difficult. Aside from covering Fryeburg, the department also responds to calls for four other communities in both Maine and New Hampshire.
The new radios and pagers have been ordered and will be in use early next year.
