Before and after: An example of the transformative riverway restoration that Primo Brands and River Partners have joined forces to implement at 10 different sites along the Sacramento and Feather rivers in Northern California to generate lasting water, community, and ecosystem benefits.

In collaboration with River Partners, this transformative effort will help conserve water, restore habitat, and strengthen ecosystems and communities through long-term investment in climate resilience

TAMPA, Fla. and STAMFORD, Conn., August 25, 2025 – As part of its ongoing commitment to responsible water stewardship, Primo Brands Corporation (NYSE: PRMB), a leading branded beverage company in North America with a focus on healthy hydration and owner of the Arrowhead® Mountain Spring Water Brand, is joining forces with River Partners, a California conservation nonprofit driving large-scale river and floodplain restoration, to support an ambitious, multi-site project helping to revitalize key portions of the Sacramento and Feather rivers.

The initiative delivers increased water resilience while advancing other beneficial outcomes — including supporting wildlife habitat that seeks to improve biodiversity, climate resilience, flood safety, and renewed access to culturally significant natural resources for Tribal communities.

As part of the collaboration, Primo Brands is providing significant financial investment for a nearly 1,000-acre portfolio of multi-benefit floodplain sites River Partners plans to restore over the next three years. This restoration is expected to generate nearly 50,000 acre-feet, or more than 16 billion gallons of volumetric water benefits (VWBs), annually. That’s roughly the amount of water 500,000 Californians use in a year.

The initiative is a notable private-public conservation partnership and exemplifies the next generation of corporate water stewardship.

“At Primo Brands, our mission is to Hydrate a Healthy America™. We do this through responsibly managing water resources and helping the communities where we live and operate,” said Charles Fogg, Chief Sustainability Officer at Primo Brands. “Collaborating with River Partners allows us to advance our water replenishment goal of helping to restore 100% of water used or displaced by our operations in high-priority watersheds facing shared water challenges.”

Healthy rivers are vital for a thriving future for California’s unique ecosystems, communities, and world-class economy. According to River Partners, approximately 95% of the state’s riverside habitat has been lost. With the help of committed private-sector partners like Primo Brands, River Partners is working to bring rivers back to life.

Delivering Measurable Impact

The project spans 10 key sites across the Sacramento River and Feather River watersheds, areas that are essential to a healthy water supply for California agriculture and other water-dependent industries, biodiversity, and vibrant communities. Collectively, the sites will:

  • Provide nearly 50,000 acre-feet of volumetric water benefits (VWBs) per year.
  • Restore nearly 1,000 acres of floodplain and side channel habitat along both the Sacramento River, California’s largest river, and Feather River, which supplies water to approximately 27 million people and 750,000 acres of farmland throughout the state.
  • Improve groundwater recharge by reconnecting rivers to restored floodplains.
  • Reconnect miles of degraded river corridors critical to expanding important rearing and spawning habitat for endangered salmon.

“The Sacramento and Feather rivers are the lifeblood of California’s water system and do so much for the state, like supporting vibrant communities, wildlife found nowhere else on Earth, and our world-class economy,” said River Partners President Julie Rentner. “And, the state’s rivers are in need of serious investment. Beyond real water outcomes, our partnership will deliver critical improvements for species on the brink, flood protection for vulnerable communities, access to restored lands for Tribes, and increased public health through access to the outdoors.”

A Model for Scalable, Nature-Based Solutions

Primo Brands’ investment in river restoration in the Sacramento Valley through River Partners highlights its commitment to water stewardship. With one of the largest on-the-ground river-restoration footprints of any nonprofit or firm in the western U.S., River Partners will apply its unique experience and expertise in maximizing multi-benefit restoration returns on this pioneering project.

Together, Primo Brands and River Partners are demonstrating the power of nature-based solutions to deliver meaningful, measurable impact on California’s most urgent water issues, setting a powerful precedent for scalable, replicable approaches to safeguarding California’s critical water supplies.

Located west of Modesto, the 1,600-acre Dos Rios State Park is the largest public-private floodplain restoration project in California history, a leading example of green infrastructure that brings life back to the San Joaquin Valley for the benefit of people and the environment. Before it became California’s newest state park in 2024, River Partners spent more than a decade transforming once flood-prone farmland into revitalized wildlife habitat.
